Managed VPS
A VPS, or Virtual Private Server, is a hosting option comprised of a self-contained server environment. The VPS utilizes a certain amount of server resources which cannot be accessed by other users within the server. This is the main difference between the VPS and one of our Shared Hosting packages. The VPS can be partitioned in a variety of ways. We've setup each partition of the VPS to resemble our Shared Hosting environment. Technically, this isolation of resources is referred to as Dynamic Resource Allocation. Now, compared to a Dedicated Web Hosting environment, the VPS has less potential, but it still serves as an intermediary option for web developers who don't quite need the resources a Dedicated Server has to offer. The VPS will be setup with its own exclusive OS install, such as a , along with exclusive installs of all pertinent software. It is important to note that the VPS is not necessarily a step up from our Shared Hosting. In fact, if it has been requested that you upgrade due to an overuse of system resources within Shared Hosting, the VPS won't be able to handle the load. In this instance, a Dedicated Server would be the viable option over the VPS. Otherwise, the VPS might just be the perfect solution for your website's needs.
